The Aquila’s triple laminated, constrained mode damped enclosure with solid 5” thick baffle houses a potent combination of the latest generation of custom, carbon fiber sandwich composite cone drivers developed by Rockport Technologies, and built by the legendary Audiotechnology of Denmark. Scanspeak’s new D30 tweeter provides an extended, airy, top end, perfectly complementing the commanding foundation of the lower registers and extraordinary textured, ultra high resolution midband. The Aquila maintains a sleek frontal profile through the side mounting of its composite cone 13” bass driver, which extends the in room bass response to 25Hz with great authority and dynamic ease, while also improving the sense of “hall space” and that only true deep bass will provide. The cabinets’ variable section thickness, (up to 3” thick) gracefully curved side panels and crowned top and front surfaces not only create an elegant form, but also endow the enclosure with incredible stiffness and minimum resonant signature.
